The Trauma Registrar primary responsibility is to assure the complete and accurate data is collected and maintained for All trauma patients diagnosed an/or treated as defined by the Florida Department of health. Responsible for obtaining, abstracting, corrected, and entering appropriate patient data both concurrently and retrospectively along with assigning injury Severity scores to all trauma patients in order to maintain an accurate and concurrent trauma patient data base for the trauma program. In addition, responsibility for compiling statistics, preparing reports, generating reports on trauma populations, and performing data searches for trauma related research projects.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
High School Diploma
Bachelors degree preferred
More than two years of experience in health information required
Previous experience with trauma registries, data base systems in preferred
Training for trauma registry, trauma registry certification, and certified coding specialist certification or certified professional in health care quality
