Trauma Registrar RN will be responsible for accurately performing the hospital-based coding and injury scaling, and providing trauma-related data to the trauma service team. This position also monitors each trauma case through the continuum of care within the Hospital to identify cases, extract necessary information and report it for inclusion in the trauma registry database in an accurate and timely manner. In addition, the candidate will have the opportunity to participate in daily patient care rounds and be a vital member of the Trauma Quality Management program.
Qualifications:
Current Florida RN licensure preferred
Trauma, Intensive Care and/or Emergency nursing experience required
Two years trauma registry experience required
Experience with ICD-9-CM coding*, AIS**/ISS*** coding/scoring, TRISS scoring and prior anatomy, physiology and disease process education is required
Working knowledge of trauma and medical terminology required
Must possess or obtain Trauma Registry Certification (CSTR*****) within 12 months
of hire
-TNCC preferred or within 12 months of hire
