Functional Description: Perform subsystem definition, preliminary and detailed design, design implementation, subsystem and system integration, and test for a subsystem. Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts. Design and develop complex software design, coding and testing. Formulate and design software system, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences design. Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Make frequent contacts with both internal and external customers concerning requirements, design and maintenance of software.
RESPONSIBILITIES % of Time 1. Participate in software requirements review, preliminary and critical design reviews, integration 15% readiness review and software acceptance reviews. 2. Design and develop complex software systems, including design, coding and testing. Formulate 30% and design software system, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of the design. 3. Make frequent contacts with customers both internal and external concerning design and 15% maintenance of software. 4. Represent the company in providing solutions to difficult technical problems associated with 5% specific projects. 5. Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. 10% 6. Support proposal efforts and present analysis, test and design of software. 10% 7. Coordinates installation of software system and the engineering configuration management 10% software changes/development. 8. Performs other duties as assigned or required. 5%
Education and Typical Years Experience A Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, or equivalent experience is required. Five to seven years of related experience is required.
Special Requirements Strong programming experience on both web and desktop N-tier applications using recent Microsoft .NET frameworks (3.0 or higher), .NET C# and .NET ASP Programming experience on the Windows platform with C/C++, PowerBuilder, Visual Basic and C# (or other language). Experience designing databases and writing stored procedures or embedded SQL using either SQL Server or Oracle. Previous experience implementing real-time messaging and programming TCP/IP socket communications. Experience in GIS programming techniques (ESRI toolset) preferred Must have working knowledge of tracking and configuration management tools (ClearQuest/ClearCase preferred). Full understanding of the software development life cycle and demonstrated experience using a particular methodology
