Staff Internal Auditor
We are a Baltimore based nationally known healthcare organization. Due to our strategic acquisitions we are hiring a Staff Internal Auditor. The Staff Internal Auditor will report directly to the Internal Audit Manager.
Responsible for conducting audit projects, from planning through reporting. Conducting audits to ensure that appropriate controls exist, processing is efficient and accurate, and procedures are in compliance with corporate standards.
Recommend changes in methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of the Internal Audit department.
Primary Duties Include:
*Conducts audit and consulting projects, including the preparation of an objective risk-based assessment and an effective audit approach in accordance with Internal Audit Department standards for quality and timeliness.
* Evaluate the adequacy of internal control and develop creative and realistic recommendations.
* Audits the activities of various departments for compliance with plans, policies, and procedures prescribed by management.
* Prepares and submits reports on the results of audits, recommending improvements in policies and procedures.
* Works with minimal supervision, conferring with manager on unusual matters.
* Assignments are broad in nature and usually require originality and ingenuity.
* Supports external audit-related projects by completing assigned tasks.
Requirements:
* BA in Accounting, Finance, Business or Information Systems.
* 1-2 years of audit experience preferablly in the healthcare industry.
* Knowledge of operating systems and application controls.
* Some travel is required.
