Sports Turf Management Internship (Sports Marketing/Events/Promotions)

Sports Turf ManagementÿInternship Opportunity - Ripken Stadium

Responsibilities:

TheÿSports Turf Managementÿintern will shadow, learn from, and assist the Head Groundskeeper, and perform in areas such as, but not limited to:ÿ

• Infield skin maintenance


• Mound and home plate repair


• Mowing, sod work,ÿ fertilization, pest management


• Working home Ironbirds games as well as Ripken tournaments


• Landscape planning, implementing, and upkeep

Qualifications:

Required:

• In pursuit of a degree in Turf Management, Horticulture or similar degree (two- or four-year)


• MUST BE A CURRENT COLLEGE STUDENT OR MAY 2012 COLLEGE GRAD


• Highly-motivated, with the ability to work well with others in stressful situations


• Ability to workÿup toÿ40ÿhours per week, beginning in April/May and ending in August/September

Working Conditions / Special Physical Requirements:

• Ability and willingness to work longer hours as needed


• Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more


• Routine exposure to extreme heat/cold conditions
