Job Description: The Senior Database Administrator will provide day-to-day Production and Development support to the existing Oracle EBS ERP system operations as well as new projects. The Oracle eBusiness suite 11.5.10.2 with Oracle database 11g RAC environment runs on RedHat Linux OS. In addition to the EBS environment, the Senior DBA will administer other Oracle DB’s that support various other applications. Typical duties include installation, upgrades, code deployment across the various environments, configuration of database application software, monitor capacity, tune for optimal performance, manage backup using Netbackup Data domains & RMAN, proactively mitigate a variety of risks and resolve issues as they arise. The Senior DBA will work with the DBA Manager in defining standards and strategies for security, database objects, backup/restore, high availability and disaster recovery. The Senior DBA is expected to be part of on-call rotation and provide after hours support as needed. Note that the Senior DBA will be part of a team that has a total of 4 DBA’s including the Senior DBA. The other three are 1 Development DBA, 1 Junior DBA, 1 DBA Manager.

Required Experience: At least 2 years of experience as an Oracle EBS application (11i - 11.5.x) administrator and 5 years as an Oracle Database administrator (9i/10g/11g), preferably in a RAC environment. Well versed with patching, cloning, diagnosing, configuring and maintaining Oracle applications using AD utilities and other system administration tools. Experience with installation and configuration of Oracle Discoverer and ADI. Must have a strong understanding of complex application environments. Knowledge of Oracle Parallel concurrent processing and load balancing, SSL, Oracle 9iLite, Oracle 9iAS, OID and SSO. Install, upgrade and configure database system software. Experience with Oracle RMAN and resolving service requests through Metalink and online working sessions is a must. Must be available for on-call support rotation and after hours support as needed.
