To coordinate total nursing care for residents/patients on assigned nursing unit and to provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing personnel and other interdisciplinary team members in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the long term care setting.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under limited direction of the Supervisor or designee is responsible for all nursing care on an assigned unit. Assigns, delegates, and monitors performance of nursing staff members. Assists in maintaining a safe, sanitary, and orderly environment. Demonstrates knowledge of emergency procedures and ability to respond in any situation. Maintains compliance with accepted standards of nursing practice, all federal and State regulations and any other regulatory bodies.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Currently licensed in the State of Maryland (LPN/RN).
General medical-surgical nursing experience with one year experience in gerontology/long term care preferred.
Knowledge of MDS, Federal/State and Medicare regulations affecting long term care preferred.
Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Basic computer skills required.
Must be able to assist in lifting patients weighing up to 250 lb.
Must be able to push wheelchairs weighing up to 300 lb.

Two Positions available
position is traditional every other weekend.
