The University of Maryland’s Public Safety Training and Technical Assistance Program (PSTTAP) is seeking a Programmer Analyst II. The successful candidate will be assigned to the State of Maryland’s Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) INFORAMTION TECHNOLOGY COMMUNICATIONS DIVISION (ITCD) in Reisterstown, Maryland. The DPSCS is in the process of improving the technical services that it provides to its organizations. In particular, it is striving to maintain and provide information and communication services throughout DPSCS to criminal justice agencies and to the public.
The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services, Information Technology and Communications Division (IT&CD) desires a Programmer Analyst II. This position will design, develop, implement, and maintain projects that are technically sound, meet the needs of users, and are in accordance with state and departmental guidelines and standards. The projects are for the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services agencies and distributed and mainframe systems operated and maintained by ITCD and provide data and information to DPSCS, criminal entities and the public.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Possession of an Associated of Arts degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems or other information technology related field to include course work in application, development and programming.
Experience: Six years of experience on design, development and .Net Programming.
Preferred Qualification:
Minimum of 6 years of advanced technical skills ASP, , , ADO,NET, Ajax
Minimum of 6 years of advanced technical skills in SQL Server Database Management
Minimum of 6 years of advanced technical skills in .NET Framework 2.0/3.5, Web Services, JavaScript, XML, HTML, CSS, T-SQL, SSRS, IIS 6.0
Proficiency in product development using web application and/or Windows forms applications
High level of experience using SQL Server 2005/2008, excellent skills in database design
Experience using Oracle PL/SQL, SSIS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties that require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
