The Flex Pool Medical Transcriptionist must be able to provide flexibility in their work schedule to accurately cover departmental needs. The Flex Pool Medical Transcriptionist must be able to transcribe and edit all notes dictated on the Digital Dictation System in an acceptable pre-determined timely manner, thus making it available in the patient's medical record quickly. EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE: Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Must possess two (2) years experience transcribing in acute care setting. Radiology experience is a plus. Must be experienced in operation of standard web-based PC transcription software/hardware. Must possess excellent medical terminology, anatomy and grammar skills. Must be organized and efficient in use of typing time. Rotating Holiday beeper coverage required. 150 lines per hour both editing voice recognition and straight transcribing.
