The Medical Transcriptions is responsible for transcribing and editing all notes dictated on the Digital Dictation System in an acceptable, pre-determined timely manner, thus making it available in the patient's medical record quickly, helping to ensure quality care. EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE: Must possess a high school diploma or GED. Must possess two (2) years experience transcribing in acute care setting. Radiology experience is a plus. Must be experienced in operation of standard web-based PC transcription software/hardware. Must possess excellent medical terminology, anatomy and grammar skills. Must be organized and efficient in use of typing time. Must be able to volunteer for rotating holiday beeper coverage. Must be able to accurately type 150 lines per hour both editing voice recognition and straight transcribing.
