The Medical Technologist is responsible for the independent performance of technical procedures, including emergency and routine patient testing, quality control, and preventive maintenance. The Medical Technologist participates in quality management processes as needed. The Medical Technologist must possess a B.S. and M.T. (ASCP) or equivalent or eligible. One (1) year of supervised technical experience in a licensed clinical laboratory preferred .Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis and Blood Bank experience. M.T. (ASCP) certification preferred. Must have one of the following: B.S. and successful completion of an accredited Medical Technology Program; a B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or other laboratory based Science and ASCP accreditation or equivalent; a B.S. in Chemistry, Biology, or other laboratory based Science and 5 years experience in a licensed Clinical Laboratory. OR The Medical Lab Technician is responsible for the performance of technical procedures, including emergency and routine patient testing, quality control, and preventive maintenance. The Medical Lab Technician participates in quality management processes as needed. The Medical Lab Technician must possess an Associate's degree, M.L.T. (ASCP) or equivalent; successfully completed an accredited MLT program; or has a Bachelor's in Biology, Chemistry, or other laboratory based Science. One (1) year of supervised technical experience in a licensed clinical laboratory preferred. M.L.T. (ASCP) preferred.
