ABOUT THE COMPANY: TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) is a leading provider of mission-critical wireless data solutions to government customers, public safety, and carriers. TCS' wireless data offerings include secure deployable communication systems and engineered satellite-based services; location-based wireless and VoIP Enhanced 9-1-1 services; messaging and location service infrastructure for wireless operators; and commercial location applications, like traffic and navigation, using the precise location of a wireless device. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY: This position is responsible for all aspects of maintaining the company's financial ERP systems. This includes maintenance of the existing Costpoint ERP system, existing reports and using our business intelligence tools (Cognos, TM1, Impromptu) to support future reporting needs. This position will be the primary support for the functional users of Costpoint in both finance/accounting and operations.
This professional will interface with all levels of senior management (including CxO) and information technology professionals to identify financial system needs, define requirements, create business processes and develop a company wide strategic financial systems solution including the coordination of user training and the creation of detailed user instructions. This professional will work closely with business management and operational teams to meet their reporting and financial system needs.
This position will support the evaluation and implementation of new systems and/or vendors and work closely with other departments to support the financial close, reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes.
This position will document and train employees on the use of financial systems and various report writing tools.
This position is also responsible for system level controls, documentation and procedures for regulatory and compliance needs including Sarbanes Oxley compliance. This position will not change the underlying software code by applying patches and updates except as a backup as needed. Although this position will not be primarily responsible for applying changes to the underlying code, this position is responsible for insuring any changes to the software are properly initiated, controlled, tested and satisfactorily ready for the user community.
SKILLS REQUIRED: The ideal candidate will have: * Experience with Costpoint modules including: * Accounting (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Fixed Assets) * Projects * People (Labor Distribution & Payroll) * Materials (Product Definition, Bills of Material, Procurement Planning,Purchasing, Receiving, Inventory, Production Control, Sales Order Entry, Master Production Schedule) * System Administration * Experience with: * DeltekTime & Expense * Cognos Contributor & Analyst (Enterprise Planner & Project Planner) * Cognos 8 * TM1 * Microsoft Access * Microsoft Excel * SQL query writing and troubleshooting * Experience in providing maintenance and support for similar systems while adhering to Sarbanes-Oxley compliant application support processes * Experience writing and maintaining system documentation * Creating test plans and conducting testing for upgrades and new software
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: · Bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science, or related IT/business degree program, MBA, MS, CPA preferred · Mix of Information Technology and Accounting experience (2-5 years) · Excellent written and oral communication skills
