Director, Product Portfolio Management – Financial Control Solutions

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Director of Product Portfolio Management is responsible for developing and executing on our overall Financial Control Solutions business plan targeted at Global markets. With overall responsibility for evaluating reconciliation and account certification trends and assessing global markets for business development and growth, this position is responsible for defining a consistent strategy and focus for creating products and solutions that benefit the Financial Control Solutions Business Plan. This position is ultimately responsible for driving the overall success of one, or more, financial control product solution sets’ strategy and supporting product lines and extensions, including defining and communicating the strategic path for the solution line from cradle to grave (idea initiation, feasibility analysis, development, release, marketing, sales, to support) through a quality-focused software development lifecycle methodology and execution. As this market space highly values thought leadership, this position is also seen as our thought leader/authority face into the financial control market.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Responsible for analyzing overall market trends in the global reconciliation and account certification space and establishing resulting strategies to drive a successful business plan.
* Responsible for developing and executing programs to assist in us being a recognized leader in the financial control space, and fulfilling the role as our recognized thought leader.
* Responsible for engaging key market analysts and consulting firms as necessary to establish appropriate global market strategies to drive a successful business plan
* Responsible for managing, promoting, and directing the overall success of multiple financial control product solution sets.
* Responsible for the overall execution of product releases, including managing the defining of feature set scope for each product release.
* Development of strategic roadmap and business plans for portfolio of product offerings that enable teams for the assigned reconciliation product solution set(s) to best meet current and future market needs, identifying both new opportunities for application integration and enhancements to existing offerings.
* Understanding of the competitive landscape and craft offerings strategy with the result of prioritizing feature/functionality offers.
* Drive the end-to-end product cycle from business justification through product launch including ensuring other functions are aligned to capitalize on the initiative.
* Act as the primary advocate for financial control solution set(s) offerings across the organization.
* Influence Market Intelligence activities for relevant offerings, for example: positioning and messaging for offerings and working with Marketing Communications to plan and execute
* Ensure the execution of sound product management processes on a function-specific basis, and ensures that sufficient training and auditing of this process occurs.
* In partnership with internal colleagues, plans and executes strategies for continuous improvement in methodologies, processes, procedures, and technologies.
* Responsible for managing product profitability.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
BA/BS required, MBA preferred

Job Related Experience:
* 7-10 years experience with reconciliation and account certification systems and associated practices within a financial institution or software company
* Prior product management experience in software a must with a track record of high-quality, successful product releases
* 7-10 years product management experience of increasing responsibilities in a combination of product management, strategy and new business development arenas
* Business experience in International marketsManagement Experience:

5-10 years experience in employee supervision and project management required

Functional Area Skills/Knowledge:
* Knowledge of reconciliation, transaction matching, account certification and balance sheet attestation
* Strong strategic planning, business planning, analytical, and problem solving skills.
* Exceptional leadership and communication skills and the ability to influence at higher levels within both internal and external organizations.
* Proven relationship and managerial abilities to motivate and manage cross-functional teams
* Proven track record of implementing projects under tight timeframes.
* Thrive in a dynamic environment with a take-charge attitude and deep reservoir of energy.
* A strong knowledge of new reconciliation techniques and technologies emerging in the financial industry. Experience running a reconciliation operation in financial institutions is a strong plus.
* Strong understanding of product management discipline and software development methodolgies
* A desire to dominate the industry.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Adaptability.
* Understanding and experience with business analysis and processes.
