Our Towson office is currently seeking a Senior Business Operations Analyst to join our team and become part of our professional, positive upbeat environment. We are looking for an experienced professional to provide business analysis support for an enterprise system that includes creating EDI transmissions to carriers. The Senior Operations Analyst will also be leading team meetings, gathering requirements, determining test cases and reporting based on test cases.
SENIOR BUSINESS OPERATIONS ANALYST RESPONSIBILITIES:
The main focus of this position will be setting up new files based on carrier requirements or using Hippa 834 transactional layout.
Work with internal and external clients to proactively identify, analyze and document system enhancements and reengineering opportunities for internal systems and carrier transmissions.
Document, track, and follow-up on open client issues. Work across departments and systems (customer systems, internal systems) to research, analyze and resolve questions/issues concerning system functionality and performance.
Conduct periodic carrier meetings to gather and understand requirements, communicate status and resolve issues.
Document system requirements for enhancements and reengineering opportunities and communicate requirements to the IT department for development.
Perform root cause failure analysis to identify application defects and develop a plan for resolving.
Analyze current report generation processes and file transmission processes to develop automated solutions and reduce manual intervention.
Liaise with internal and external IT support to set-up connectivity and FTP access with external clients.
Liaise with internal and external IT support to investigate and troubleshoot issues related to connectivity and FTP capabilities.
Use SQL and other query languages to upload and/or extract data to and from database and data-warehouse tables.
Generate ad-hoc reports utilizing SQL, system databases and the data-warehouse.
Utilize internal problem tracking software as a repository and metrics generation tool for internal system issues, enhancements and development progress.
Responsible for metric tracking, issue identification and resolution to proactively exceed carrier and client service level guarantees.
Requirements:
SENIOR BUSINESS OPERATIONS ANALYST REQUIREMENTS:
Critical Requirement: Experienced with SQL and other query languages to extract data from the database to then map into the carrier specific EDI transmissions.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a Healthcare related field, with at least five (5) years experience in the health care industry.
Experience writing SQL and utilizing it for data extraction and analysis.
Knowledge and understanding of health care systems.
Experience documenting standard operating procedures and/or business requirements.
Experience analyzing reports and metrics and providing detailed analysis and feedback.
Ability to provide standardized and ad-hoc reports in an organized, professional format.
Communicate with all levels of internal personnel, both verbally and in writing.
Read, comprehend, interpret, and analyze moderately complex job-related documents and financial records.
Work under absolute deadlines.
Develop and maintain good working relationships.
Determine when issues need to be escalated to a higher level.
