AT&T Principal-Technical Architect- Apache/Tomcat
Responsible for translating business needs into technical solutions, and defining solutions to problems through reasoned application of information technology. Designs, develops, documents and analyzes overall architecture of systems, including hardware and software. Determines integrated hardware and software architecture solutions that meet performance, usability, scalability, reliability, and security needs. Coordinates design and integration of total system including subsystems. Researches and recommends technology to improve the current systems.

Contributes through own development of advanced technologies or concepts with global reach or industry application. Has direct impact on creation of technical products/services and serves as a role model and a mentor.
Knowledge ? Has extensive specialized technical expertise and applies expert knowledge and broad understanding of multiple disciplines. Integrates expert knowledge of technical principles and methods of multiple disciplines with knowledge of products/ services and internal operations. Advisor on AT&T technologies, systems and/or procedures.

This position may be responsible for contributing to AT&T?s compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.
Our Principal Architect position will afford you the opportunity to -
- Analyze a customer's business and IT challenges and design a comprehensive solution that integrates smoothly into the customer's environment
- Check for reliability, availability, and scalability
- Use modeling techniques - such as use case, scenario modeling, prototyping, benchmarking, and performance modeling, to describe the problem space, to size the solution and to validate that the proposed architecture addresses the business requirements
- Establish, implement, and enforce appropriate standards in the creation and implementation of the solution whenever project requirements call for or would benefit from the use of standards
- Lead project management, change management, operations management and financial analysis
- Lead architectural engagements in order to promote the cause of technology, and of specific technologies, in order to achieve buy-in from the enterprise's management and IT communities, seeking to create new opportunities and business relationships
- Maintain a baseline of IT industry knowledge to advise on technical trends and techniques and apply them to the development of solution design
